We are blessed to have such a beautiful animals to help manage our emotions. From love to loss, therapy to mental illness, they are angels sent to us for all the moments and seasons that happen in life.
This is the story on how Murphy chose me, Keri Taylor.
As I was walking through the rescue to see a dog I was going to take home, Murphy had gotten off his leash as one of the workers was about to transfer him to a kill shelter. All 80 lbs of Murphy ran and jumped into my lap and started liking me in the face. I knew then this was my life-long companion. What I didn't realize was how he would later be there to save my life.
I had gotten into a very dark emotional space after losing a loved one. Days kept on passing where I wouldn't get out of bed, not even to eat or shower. If it wasn't for his love and daily persistence, I would not be here today.
- Food, walks, love, butt scratches and attention = unconditional love.
This is all a dog needs.
If Murphy could do this for me, what could other dogs do for those in need or those who may not know what's to come. I decided it was time for me to serve and protect the dogs that needed to be rescued, rehabilitated and fostered. Most importantly, the ones in danger of being euthanized.
About Keri:
Keri has traveled extensively around the world as an RN and worked the stressful hours in various locations needed during the pandemic. She successfully saved up and used her savings to open her center, KERIs KAWs. She now resides in Conroe, Tx.

"If it wasn't for him, I would have fallen into a very deep pit in my mind. My dog gave me the strength to get out of bed everyday. I loved him more than he will ever know."
